My cousin is living with us now. He just got out of jail for violating probation (for the 3rd time). He gets one more strike and he goes to prison for 5 years. Well, he is a nice enough guy for the most part. He has this girlfriend (age 17), who dotes on him always. He is almost 19, and has been jailed 3 times...for various things, mostly marajuana. He gets to have my room because he "is a guest" and my room is the smallest and therefore "the easiest to clean out" so...according to my mother I had to give him my room. Well...I was okay with that for the most part...and was under the impression that he would be living under the same rules as my brother and I do while we are at home (during summers now...and a stint on medical leave this semester for me). Well...he doesn't seem to have to. His girlfriend is over ALL THE TIME. In fact she is spending the night tonight. They have fallen asleep together, they makeout in the living room, and they beat the crap out of each other...mostly him beating her...but occasionally it goes the other way.
Gah...my mom is kicking me off the computer. I'll post the rest tomorrow since I don't want to rewrite this.

So, anyways, last night his little brother and sister (almost 3 years old) stayed the night...because his girlfriend was watching them and he told her that he would break up with her if she didn't bring them here.
This morning I looked all over for our waffles (we had a full box two days ago) and couldn't find them. The twins were clammaring for waffles, but I could only offer scrambled eggs and toast because our sausage had magically disapeared too. Well...they are sitting down to eat their eggs and toast and their brother comes in and reaches all the way back to the back of the freezer and gets the waffles and saugages... (our freezer is SO full), they are hidden in a fish stick box. He then proceeds to make and eat them in front of the twins who start a rebellion over having to eat eggs when their brother got strawberry syrup and waffles. This is a normal occurance, he just likes to start shit.
THEN everytime his girlfriend tries to leave he gets pissed and either breaks up with her, hits her, or starts calling her a whore. I think his girlfriend is awesome, she is a really nice person...but damn he's such an asshole to her.
And then there is the issue of the RULES. Zac (my boyfriend of almost 5 years) lives in wisconsin, and when he comes to visit me in Iowa, he has to sleep on one level of the house and me on the other, because my mother will not allow us to be even upstairs together. We can't even shut the door to play with my geckos, and we have cats! Oh yes, by the way, I'll be 20 next month, and he is 22. Neither one of us has ever been in trouble, and neither one of us drinks, smokes, or does drugs. However, my cousin (18) and his girlfriend (17) who have been together about 2 years (if you compile all their breakups and getting back togethers...one of which lasted 8 months), have both been to jail...him to jail, her to juvie. Both do drugs, drink, and smoke. And they spent the night together last night! My mom is making them a "privacy room" in the basement to have sex in. AND they sit on the couch in front of everyone dry humping.
I questions my mother about the differences and she said "they are more worldly than you." I said "yes mom, they are more worldly. But why is it that you trust them more? Nothing says "trust me" like a criminal record" She said "well, whatever."
Comments, suggestions, musings?

That's a little ridiculous. If he is living under your mother's roof, he should have the same exact rules as you and Char. if he doesn't want to live with those rules, well, prison might be the better place for him.

I think you need to take your mom to the brain shop, and get a new one for her.
