The dark of night enveloped us
Our naked bodies entwined
A fire formed between us
As your body pressed to mine.

We engaged in something beautiful
Something deep
Something serene
Still there are some who call it dirty
And our bodies labeled unclean

The dance that we took part in
Was one of primal days
And our love-making paid homage
To the gods of love and time gone by

Between the covers of the books that no one had ever read again, in the old parchments damaged by dampness, a livid flower had prospered, and in the air that had been the purest and brightest in the house an unbearable smell of rotten memories floated.
